The Boat
Magic Carpet Ride
Manufactured in 1983 in Taiwan, the boat was constructed using US boat building techniques and a well-founded design by Robert Perry. This coupled with low labor costs, and abundant supplies, led to a highly crafted boat. The interior, was constructed from a single teak log, and finished w/ a natural wood tone.
The design of the boat called for a "blue water cruiser", so the boat carries an ample supply of diesel and water for extended ocean crossings.
Since it's purchase in 1996 it has gone through a major refit, and update. Refitted systems included, sails, running and standing rigging, dodger, bimini, transmission, topsides paint, cabin sole, head liner, traveler system, life lines, alternator, all hoses and engine pumps, batteries, upholstery, and autopilot.
The boat also comes equipped w/ all the comforts, including:
--- Watermaker for unlimited showers.
--- Satellite phone for email, and calling from/to anywhere in the world.
--- Dive compressor & tanks, so there is an unlimited supply of air in remote locations.
--- DVD & VHF for an excuse to eat popcorn.
--- High-End stereo system w/ cockpit speakers with over a 100 CD's. No sailing would be complete without the right music.
